Barry Lively has been a familiar face in the Tampa Bay area since 1977, but his journey into the art world took a unique path. After nearly three decades in the credit card industry, he made a bold shift in 2014, stepping into professional photography—bringing with him a sharp eye for storytelling, a knack for human connection, and a signature blend of humor and professionalism.
For Barry, art isn’t meant to be confined—it thrives out in the world, amongst the people. His belief that the most successful artists are those who immerse themselves in the energy around them is evident in every frame he captures. His work doesn’t just freeze a moment—it sparks curiosity and stirs emotion, making each image feel like a story waiting to be told.
Barry’s creative journey with Dollylocks founder Alin Leslie began over a decade ago, when they first met at a nonprofit fundraiser. Their shared passion for creativity quickly led to countless collaborations—from product photography to music festival sponsorships—all infused with a deep appreciation for artistry and innovation. One of their most striking collaborations, Face Plant (2018, Genoa, Italy), became the face of Dollylocks’ Locking Powder, a testament to their combined creative vision.
With an unwavering passion for pushing artistic boundaries, Barry continues to seek new ways to connect, inspire, and create through his lens. His work is more than photography—it’s a way of seeing the world, capturing its raw beauty, and telling stories that linger long after the image fades.
We’re honored to feature Barry as a Dollylocks Label Artist and can’t wait to see what he captures next!
