The New Year is the perfect time to refresh your routine, reset your scalp, and give your locs the clean, lightweight, nourished foundation they deserve... SO, we created the Dollylocks 30-Day Reset Challenge,  a simple, step-by-step, 30-day plan designed to remove buildup, restore moisture, and build healthy daily habits for long-term hair and scalp health.

If you have never detoxed you hair before, only wash sparingly, or simply want a clean start for the New Year, this guide walks you through exactly what to do each day.

Let’s get started! 🌿

Why the 30-Day Reset Challenge Works

Dreadlocks naturally hold onto dirt, debris, oils, sweat, environmental residue, and product buildup. Over time, that buildup can cause:

  • heaviness

  • itchiness

  • residue

  • dryness

  • odor

  • dullness

The 30-Day Reset Challenge focuses on:
✔️ Clarifying hair and removing buildup
✔️ Strengthening your wash routine
✔️ Restoring pH and moisture balance
✔️ Improving scalp health
✔️ Reducing frizz and flyaways
✔️ Building sustainable daily care habits

Getting Started: What You Need

Essentials for the Reset Challenge:

  • Dollylocks Detox (two if necessary)
  • Dollylocks Clarifying Shampoo
  • Dollylocks Conditioner
  • Dollylocks Refreshening Spray
  • Dollylocks Conditioning Oil

Optional:

  • Dollylocks Detox Basin
  • Dollylocks Tightening Texture Spray
  • Dollylocks Tightening Texture Serum
  • Dollylocks Cleansing Spray (for in-between-wash scalp cleansing)
  • Exfoliating Cloth (for dandruff or scalp build-up)

Day 1: Full Detox (The Reset)

Your month starts with a deeply cleansing detox.

If you’ve never detoxed, have heavy buildup, residue, or wash infrequently:

👉 Do two detoxes back-to-back on Day 1.

After Detox:

✔️ Double wash: wash → rinse → repeat
✔️ Condition, focusing on the ends of your hair, rinse or leave-in
✔️ Dry hair? Add a little conditioner into your Refreshening Spray for daily moisture
✔️ If your locs feel extra dry, apply Conditioning Oil to dry hair

Day 1 sets the foundation for the rest of the 30-Day Reset Challenge.
