Mady’s loc journey is rooted in passion, education, and inclusivity, and her love for locs started long before she became a professional artist.

🌱 From Personal Journey to Loc Artist

Mady has been doing her own locs since she was a teenager, but began helping others in 2024, officially making loc artistry her part-time profession in 2025. Her mission is to make loc care more accessible, inclusive, and supportive for every client.

“One of my favorite things about working with clients is the education and support I can provide to make their journey more comfortable,” she shares.

💛 Her Loc Journey

Mady has had locs three times in her life, once in high school, again in college, and now in her current set, which is about five years old and still thriving.

She’s loved locs since she was very young and sees them as more than a hairstyle. For Mady, locs represent history, identity, and powerful self-expression. She credits consistent use of high-quality, loc-specific products (like Dollylocks 😉) for the health and maturity of her locs.

“It was a dream of mine to work with Dollylocks one day,” she says. “I attribute my locs’ maturation and health to consistently using quality products built specifically for my locs’ success.”

🧠 Advice for Fellow Loc Lovers

Mady’s advice is simple, powerful, and grounding:

“Stay true to your spirit. Your journey is yours and no one else’s. No matter where you are in your journey, never compare, dim, or second guess yourself. Embrace every stage with appreciation and know that the only constant is change.”

🌿 Favorite Dollylocks Products

  • Favorite scent: Mintea – “Refreshing, invigorating, minty, and eucalyptus, if ‘So Fresh and So Clean’ was a product, it would be Mintea.”

  • Favorite product: Tightening Spray – Keeps her locs feeling cared for, refreshed, and smelling amazing.
